THE HOUSE
Casa Matira is built in a traditional style with high chestnut-beamed ceilings that keep the house cool even on the hottest summer’s day, with integrated mosquito nets to all windows. It has six generous bedrooms, four bath/shower rooms, a large sitting room, dining room, games/TV room, kitchen, laundry room and terraced loggia.
Top Floor
There is a large bedroom on the top floor with single/double/bunk bed options. This room is reached via a striking wrought-iron spiral staircase leading to a mezzanine landing in the sitting room - a peaceful place to sit and read amongst our books.
First floor
Our master bedroom has a super king-sized bed with ensuite bathroom and shower, it also has double doors leading out to a Juliet balcony and expansive panoramic views. Two further bedrooms on the first floor have ensuite showers and can be configured as twins or super king-sized doubles.
The first floor also has a huge sitting room. Its six metre high ceiling makes it a wonderfully cool space to escape the heat if it gets too hot in the sun. It also has a large stone fireplace, perfect for snuggling down in front of in the colder months. There is a separate cloakroom on this floor.
Ground floor
The two bedrooms on the ground floor can be either twins or doubles. They share a bathroom and one bedroom has large glass doors opening on to the terrace again with the fabulous view. There is a separate cloakroom on this floor.
In the laundry/utility room there is a washing machine, dryer and microwave. We have high chairs and travel cots which are also available.
THE KITCHEN
Our large dining room has a table for 12 or more with double doors opening on to the terrace. Off the dining room is the kitchen, which has a 110cm wide range cooker with two ovens, a grill and a warming drawer. It also has an American-style double door fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a breakfast table and double doors leading out to the loggia and the terrace. The loggia has a stone table to sit 12 under cover for alfresco dining. We also have a Weber BBQ.
GAMES
Our games/TV room has a full sized pool table, table tennis (out on the terrace during the summer) and a large flat screen TV with DVD player and home cinema surround sound system. The smart TV is Netflix and Amazon enabled. We have provided a mixture of DVDs and CDs to suit all tastes, there is also a large collection of books as well as a dressing-up box for the children and many other games and toys.
A real treat of a week with my family! This property is in a very special position on the top of a hill with breathtaking views. The farmhouse has been beautifully and very tastefully restored and offers clean, spacious accommodation with extremely comfortable beds, lovely linen, plenty of bathrooms and elegant dining and lounging areas. I would highly recommend this property for either families or large adult parties.

Casa Matira provided me and my family the best two week vacation of our lives. The interior is designed and decorated with a refined eye for quality and detail -- comfortable beds, a spacious, well-appointed kitchen that opens onto a lovely covered dining area, a surfeit of big, comfortable bathrooms that would humble the finest hotel -- Casa Matira offers the perfect combination of personal and elegant.
