THE HOUSE
Casa Matira is built in a traditional style with high chestnut-beamed ceilings that keep the house cool even on the hottest summer’s day, with integrated mosquito nets to all windows. It has six generous bedrooms, four bath/shower rooms, a large sitting room, dining room, games/TV room, kitchen, larder, laundry room and terraced loggia.
Top Floor
There is a large bedroom on the top floor with two single beds. This room is reached via a striking wrought-iron spiral staircase leading to a mezzanine landing in the sitting room.
First floor
Our master bedroom has a super king-sized bed with ensuite bathroom and shower. It also has double doors and balcony railings. Two further bedrooms on the first floor have ensuite showers and can be configured as twins or super king-sized doubles, with zip and link bases and mattresses.
The first floor also has a huge sitting room. Its six metre high ceiling makes it a wonderfully cool space to escape the heat if it gets too hot. It also has a large stone fireplace, perfect for snuggling down in the colder months. There is a separate cloakroom on both the ground and first floor.
Ground floor
The two bedrooms on the ground floor can be either twins or doubles. They share a bath/shower room and one bedroom has large glass doors opening on to the terrace.
Our large dining room has a table for 12 or more with double doors opening on to the terrace. Off the dining room is the kitchen. It has a 110cm wide range cooker with two ovens, a grill and a warming drawer. It also has an American-style double door fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a breakfast table and double doors leading out to the loggia and the terrace. The loggia has a table to sit 12 or more under cover for alfresco dining.
In the laundry/utility room there is a washing machine, dryer and microwave. We have high chairs and a travel cot is also available.
Our games/TV room has a full sized pool table, table tennis and a large flat screen TV with DVD player and home cinema surround sound system. We have provided a mixture of DVDs and CDs to suit all tastes and there is also a small library.
